Connect a TIP cable (null modem serial cable) between the server that you are tipping FROM's port B and the server you are tipping TO's port A
To establish to connection, log on to the server you are tipping from and type
tip hardwire
This will create the TIP session. If this fails test the cable by leaving it in port A of the server to be connected to and connect the other end to a dumb terminal. If you get a responce then the cable is good. If not check it by plugging the terminal into part A of another server.
"hardwire" is defined in /etc/remote
To exit from TIP session type #.
If you're on a T2000, they only have one serial port, and by default hardwire maps to /dev/term/b. So you need to change the hardwire entry in /etc/remote to read /dev/term/a
