seb: SebastienSauteur

mattis: hi. I'm probably back a little after 18:00 UTC.

zy: hi

ma: back in a minute - Just one phonecall.

zy: 23 related phonecall? :)

zy: found this today: found it amusing (for me at least) : zyz + tubulin

zy: the experiment for today... : Meta-BOX : #

seb: hi. pretty quiet.

zy: yepp whats on your mind this eve?
Personally im slowly turning this place into a soup: )

seb: well, i should take a look at Meta-BOX first :-) wow.. hard stuff

zy: hope you like it: chapter 4 of TOQC is well written and should be mandatory to students IMHO ;)

seb: heuuu i'll stick to chapter 4 then ;-). Actually i'm the curious type, so i'll take a deeper look. even if i'm not really able to dig into too much complicated mathematics.

zy: the book is from Dec 2004 so it is hot stuff :) almost glowing

zy: try not to calculate but instead read the formulas like text, makes it a lot more fun to think about math that way ;) calculations are to be feed the machines, studying chapter 3 explains some of the funny math symbols too!.

seb: do you plan to have this theory applied to wiki-nodes or sthing ? i mean, i'm trying to figure out how this could be understood at human level units..

zy: im experimenting with two things: creating a soup where several webpages combines to see if it might generate more interesting web-experience than!? reading three or four separate webpages. .. and yes i am interested of digital "conciousness" flow :) example: how people move between webpages, and what digital environment is suatable for bidirectional information flow. I recoon a single person have max about 6 webpages that this person visits each day for internet content, the rest is just temporal connections from the main "portals". IMHO ;)

seb: big deal :-) i guess that we're reaching some human limits today because of that overwhelming flow of informations, so taht we need to identify a number of sources we can trust, or at least rely on. on the other hand, i like what is so called serendipity, that is i like to pick up informations in places i had not planed to go, and would have never guessed to.

zy: :) sounds jolly good then

seb : i don't feel realy confident with the idea of a software, or computer profiling my needs, and feeding me with what would be supposed to be my favourite stuff. instead, i'm wainting for visual stuffs that would allow me to navigate through a number of identified nodes, but let me guess that something sounds interesting, and could be, because of i don't know, a color, a sound, sthing..

zy: would it be possible to mimic that process (letting humans to do the information selection) if it was users that changed the links manually? do you trust humans? ;)

seb : i guess it's the only way to make it. ;-) but once needs to learn, since many have been educated a pretty different way, often.

zy: agree

zy: here is my guess:
magenta, sun-song, electronaut
http://hyperphysics.phy-astr.gsu.edu/hbase/vision/newtcol.html - magenta

seb: why magenta ?

http://solar-center.stanford.edu/singing/singing.html - sun-song
http://jlnlabs.imars.com/lifters/orville/index.htm - electronaut

seb: sun-song is thrilling.. deep.. far away

zy: seb: i would like to query for a map a recepy and time

zy: might be possible to create a webinterface with a credit system so a person gets a credit for answering a query and can ask querys to others for each credit. perhaps start with 6 credits. what do you think?

seb : the credits gains and spents would not be dependant on the quality of answers.. just a question of trust, is that it ? bad question, an open system would answer

zy: yes i guess the users will create invisible nets to whom it asks its questions... perhaps questions could be asked directly and to a global query / answerflowbox .. ..

seb : and it comes to neighbour to neighbour replication.

zyz: well i think the ressult should be a combined webpage with the three querys, it will probably set a theme on the content delivered, im thinking it might generate more interesting content with more flavor so to say :)

what do you mean, a recepy ?

zy: a build instruction list for food ;)

seb : ok ;-) what of a time ?

zy: might be a vague query with many answers ;)

seb : wow.. need to think about it.. poor little flying mouse ;-)

zy: he seems to have survived ;)

seb : that's what the shrink would say ;-)

zy: wow, really? =D

seb : she must have lived a thrilling experience, so, feels ok about it ;-)
i'm into .. democratics thinkings.. i'm trying to figure out how these informations recepies could be helpful in a way or another, and i guess that these side by side thoughts, answers, queries, etc. are a good design for future.

zy: cheers mate!

seb : taking control over information.. yes. we need think about it. we all need. do you do physics ?

zy: im most head down into microcomputers such as the PICmcu for profession right now, i guess it includes some quantum physics for understanding the light emitted from diodes and recived to the photo-diodes to be recorded by the microcomputer. .. Electronics too (digital mostly).
zy: btw, CPU's in embedded computers are quite easy to locate using a AM radio since the clockfrequency generates radiointerferace in the middle and around the AM / FM band. The FM band survives since it does not rely on amplitude of the signal to be decoded. Try it on your computermouse... (put a AM radio next to it)

seb : i'ma do it.. right now ;-) go and pick up the radio.. only FM on it :-( i'l ltry later.

zy: yeah, the FM just looses a little quality thats all, the AM band makes it possible to identify chips almost by listening to the sound pattern.

seb: can you try that with any kind of electronic device ?

zy: it must be oscillating in order to generate electromagnetic emission, digital circuits oscillate a lot.

seb: allright, so the computermouse when it's moving around ?

zy: i would recoon so and when idle a little bit

seb: it reminds me one day, when i was listening to my car engine on the car radio, probably because of a ground wire isolation problem or sthing like this.. :-) i could heard the speed of rotation of the engine.

zy: :) like handdrawn art?

seb : like a videogame more :-)

zy: ok : http://www.kidradd.com/ - here you go! Press Start! :P

seb : well, i'v got to go. mattis disepeared

zy: ok fare thee well then!?

seb: see you later then :-) thanks for the comic strips bye

zy: fare well
