EGGGASM or Erister Egg Hunt involves putting quotes, messages and items designed to surprise the finder in colored plastic Easter Eggs.

    Origin[edit]

The idea came from "Discordian Society Manifesto #00003" by Professor Mu-Chao that appeared in Apocrypha Discordia.[1][2]

"One Easter, the Sacred Chao Ranch Cabal hid plastic Easter eggs all over the mall, supermarkets, museums, churches, etc. that had enlightening fortunes trapped inside. The fortunes were along the lines of 'This is an unfertilized egg', 'The PA lottery number for 5-23-97 will be 17-32-5', 'You picked the 10 of Clubs', '25 cents off of LUCKY CHARMS', and 'You are pregnant (replace egg if you are a man).'"

That was an isolated event until it became popular with a post by Pinky McFatfat, who either revived or reinvented the concept on March 12, 2008.[3]

    Dear Popes and Momes,

I am planning a random Easter Egg hunt in my local town park...No, the locals don't know they will be attending it.

Any ideas for various random articles to place inside plastic eggs? I have had the suggestion to put real hard-boiled ones inside, but I don't want to kill any vagrants.

TA, Pinky McFatfat, High Shamrock Shake (Dublin)

    First Erister Egg Hunts[edit]

Professor Cramulus of Black Iron Prison[4] and Reverend Loveshade of the Discordian Division of the Ek-sen-triks CluborGuild[5] quickly promoted the idea on their websites. The Ek-sen-trik Discordians and Mythics of Harmonia called it Erister Egg Hunt, combining the name of Goddess Eris with Goddess Easter (Easter also being used by Christians for the resurrection of Jesus Christ). Black Iron Prison adopted the idea as EGGGASM or Egggasm, and made it part of OMGASM.

Even though the idea was suggested less than two weeks before Easter, which was March 23 in 2008, Erister eggs were hidden by several people and groups for Easter that year. These included Pinky McFatfat, who hid items including a gold cufflink and a military service medal belonging to Pinky's late father, a purple heart.[6] People associated with Black Iron Prison hid items including "Lose a Turn" and "Toxic Culture" with items including a toy baby and a doll's leg.[7]

The Ek-sen-trik Discordians hid small toys with quotes from various Discordian works: "These quotes were all safe for young children, although not necessarily safe for their parents."[8] Purple Ferret's Nest of Shamlicht Kids Club hid eggs at Pagan spring equinox/Ostara ceremony.[9]

Mythics of Harmonia members Princess Unicornia, Fairy Princess Yoshikyoko and Nurse Eggscream hid their eggs at a college, and had adult content. Items varied from a "crazy term paper," chocolate eggs, candy penises and balloon condoms, and a pair of used panties.[10]
