We are meeting half an hour before a ting on irc, server freenode, channel #onebigsoup. We use Gobby as a collaborative editor (v0.3.0 only please - older versions are incompatile and will likely ruin the ting) and teamspeak for VoIP. The collab-editor-server is kathigraben.mine.nu, port 6522 (default). You find the teamspeak login data on the gobby page ting56_talk or ask in irc.freenode #onebigsoup. Joining the ting on gobby only is surely welcome.

    topic proposals[edit]

    • tings are open. so come up with a topic - you will realize pretty soon if someone's interested in it
    • add here or in gobby, please

The teamspeak login is despise-the-graceful.com port 3333 (not default!). You have to click Connection, then Quick Connect and then enter "despise-the-graceful.com:3333" as server adress and your nickname. Ask here or in irc.freenode #onebigsoup if you're having problems. Joining the ting on gobby only is highly welcomed.

    SHAM: HALLO!

ma: moin. sorry I didn't get there's someone, looks like my gobby was frozen. It didn't show new participants. When I just reconnected I saw you. hi.

tom: hi - having problems with the irc, but gobby seems to work.

ma: It does. Not always though. It's a good habit to save sessions regulary. Two tings ago we lost one and a half hours of good thinking when gobby suddently diconnected. I hadn't saved it. Grr.

tom: First thing I wanted to write, the same thing happened - Gobby disappeared like a flash. But tom was still logged on, so I had to log on as tom2. Probably no other way to get around this?

ma: gobby is far from perfect, but the best in open source at the moment, to what I can tell. Yes when relogging in a second name has to be created, they are working on it. What interests me most is a retrieveable history like moonedit has it.

tom: what are the main problems? general stability. When logging in or leaving it tends to freeze. In work with some three four people it's pretty reliable.

tom: so far, I haven't used Gobby, except trying it out. It looks like a very interesting piece of software though.

ma: on teamspeak: Can you hear me major tom?

tom: nice singing - yeah. Let me try how I can use this teamspeak

tom: I didn't get, where to change the settings. In teamspeak?

ma: no in your OS, the speaker symbol, mixer settings, switches, mic +20dB

And then we talked in Teamspeak and forgot to summarize :)
