A unit of measurment?[edit]
Robert Anton Wilson coined the term Jumping Jesus as a unit to measure information explosions based on reasearch done by (search for this somewhere). Loosly, it measures the increase in circulation of information between humans. (diagram would be nice). The first tool, the wheel, bronze age, Rennessance, The industrial revoulution, Radio Transistors, Television, personal computers..etc..
Today another jumping jesus is made, according to this article, news studios have been compressed down to a 1 man operation, "solo journalist". Digital technology allows what seems to be almost no-overheard news reporting. A laptop with some spiffy tools, a Digital Video recorder, and a few other toys, one can become a meme-perpetuating mechanism faster then ever before.
